Connecting People With Nature

While Manchester and Leeds have the Peak District to explore and the people of London can quickly access the Chilterns, Surrey Hills and High Weald, there are less options for people in Cambridge, Peterborough and other nearby places who wish to connect with nature.

A key aim of the Great Fen is to provide a large wild space that local people can visit, where they can see native wildlife and just 'get away from it all' and be immersed in nature.

There are a wide range of walks and trails for visitors to explore and a host of events and learning opportunities on offer, mostly run from the Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre, at Ramsey Heights.

Future plans include a big new visitor centre at New Decoy.
