Parts of the Great Fen are home to most of the widespread mammal species that occur across the UK such as Foxes, Badgers, Rabbits, mice, voles and shrews. However, there are other mammals such as Otters, Water Voles, Water Shrews and Chinese Water Deer here that are specialists of wetland habitats.
Most of these mammals, although large in size, are notoriously difficult to see because they are nocturnal or very shy, but the Great Fen's automatic cameras providing both night-time and daytime images have provided records of these elusive creatures. Many of the pages below include videos from these cameras.
