Members of the Great Fen Local Group about to set off on a guided walk
The Great Fen Local Group organises a programme of entertaining talks, walks and events. These raise funds and promote awareness and appreciation of the Great Fen. The money we raise goes towards special projects within the Great Fen.
Taking our cue from the Great Fen itself, we cater for a mix of wildlife and local history interests, which makes our events and meetings lively and varied.
Our monthly talks are held at the Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre: it is well-signposted from the main road in Ramsey Heights and there is plenty of free parking.
These Thursday evening talks are informal and friendly, and we always provide tea and biscuits and sometimes wine.
Midweek rambles, led by our chairperson, Adrian Kempster, are very popular, whatever the weather. You can expect to be taken into parts of the Great Fen you might not otherwise discover, and most people make it out again as well!

Formed in 2011, we warmly welcome anyone who would like to attend events or get involved, whenever and in whatever way you can. You don’t need to be a member of the Wildlife Trust to join in or help out.
Also, we are always interested to hear from potential speakers on subjects connected with the Great Fen area: please get in touch if you would like to contribute to our talks programme.
We always have fun - whatever the weather!
