The Great Fen lies in the north-west of the county of Cambridgeshire, between Peterborough and Huntingdon. The A1(M) road and the East Coast Mainline railway lie to the west, while the small town of Ramsey is a short distance to the east. The B660 road runs east-west through the centre of the Great Fen.
This interactive map shows the Great Fen area in relation to these towns and transport features.
Trains: The nearest train stations are in Huntingdon (approx 11 miles) and Peterborough (approx 12 miles). Both stations have commuter services coming from London and the south. Peterborough also has high-speed trains from London and the north, as well an east-west cross country service linking Birmingham and Leicester with Cambridge, Norwich etc.
Buses: Buses run infrequently between Peterborough and Ramsey, serving the villages in between, Monday to Saturday. There is a bus stop at the bottom of Chapel Road, about half a mile from the Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre, or a mile from Woodwalton Fen.
There is also a bus stop in Holme village, about a mile from Holme Fen, but the service is very limited.

In the future cycle paths will link to local communities, but for now bike access is by road. Cycling is not possible on the existing nature reserves due to the nature of the paths, but cycle parking is available at the Great Fen Information Point, at Woodwalton Fen and at the Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre.
Water access is certainly a possibility and there are moorings planned for the future, but there are currently no mooring locations in the Great Fen. The closest place to moor is Bill Fen Marina in Ramsey.
