Come and join one of the fortnightly work parties for a wildlife work-out.
It’s a good way to get some fresh air, keep fit and make a difference for local wildlife. These take place in a variety of locations on the Great Fen.
Generally no skills are needed as training and tools are provided.
You will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring something to eat and drink.
"I’ve done reed stacking, hide maintenance, cutting back undergrowth and clearing bridges and rides... I have met some really nice people since I started volunteering. I always look forward to the volunteer days, knowing that I will be spending a day on the fen not only helping wildlife, but also keeping fit and chatting with like-minded people."
Barbara, Great Fen volunteer
"I started volunteering for the Great Fen work party in order to get out in the great outdoors and socialise with like minded people, as well as benefiting the local wildlife. However I didn't realise, that in the process, I would make some great friends and have lots of fun!"
Vanessa, Great Fen Volunteer
OK, but what's it like in the winter? Even more fun!
Please get in touch with Mandy Corney if you would like to find out more about any volunteering opportunities.
