It is now the second week of building the strawbale bird hide on New Decoy Information Point - our new visitor site opening this summer.
Progress is going really well despite the weather. We have had fantastic volunteer support and everyone has battled on through the wind and the rain. The building managed to stay in tact after a very stormy weekend!
Week 2 began with tensioning the walls of strawbale to give them more strength and adding chicken wire to sections for support. Tuesday saw the first coats of render being added to the outer walls and today the team have been rendering on the inside.
Its really starting to take shape! Also a path has been cut through the woodland which will create the waymarked walk for the site. Exciting stuff!
