The Wildlife Trust Countryside Centre at Ramsey Heights, the education centre for the Great Fen, provides an ideal setting for groups to visit for a range of fun activities. Many of these can afford the opportunity to work towards awards and badges such as the Naturalist Activity Badge.
Our purpose-built outdoor area with its covered log benches and fire pit is perfect for evening meetings, safe and secluded. Combined with the rest of our 10-acre reserve we can offer opportunities to improve identification skills relating to trees, birds, insects, pond dwellers and so much more.
We can also offer activities such as creating art using natural materials, bark rubbing and making natural dyes. Helping wildlife can also be a theme by making bird boxes, bird feeders and minibeast homes.
Above all our sessions are fun; whether den building in the woods, simple campfire cuisine or learning a new skill such as wood carving. All our staff are fully qualified, experienced and enthusiastic and all our activities are fully risk assessed.
We recommend you bring your usual number of leaders and helpers, depending on the number of children and if you would like to visit our reserve beforehand to see our facilities you would be more than welcome. Please call us on 01487 170420 for details of how to book a visit. Charges are £4.00 per child with accompanying adults free and usually last for one-and-a-half to two hours.
Please contact us for further details via: email@example.com
